In my experience the best way to grow in your photography is…..

b) Getting feedback from experienced photographers on how you can improve.

…this course is designed to facilitate both.

It is a 12 week e-mail course, designed for beginner photographers, teenage and older (younger kids may be able to do it if they are mature and have support from an involved parent…. I do plan on my 8 year old doing it ūüėČ

It will consist of;

12 e-mail lessons, which are short (to fit into busy lives) but powerful, designed to make you think and give you some basic skills which will improve your photography quickly, and also to get your juices flowing.

In each lesson I will

– Introduce an important aspect of photography

– Share a photo I have taken, how I took, and why I think it works or doesn’t work.

– Share some technical pointers

– Give some more challenging suggestions for more advanced photographers.

РGive a photographic and maybe a written assignment for you to practice what you have learned.

Topics covered are; Producing sharp pictures/ getting more advanced with shutter speed/ Loving your subject with the right background/ More advanced with depth of field/ Framing/ ISO/ Negative Space/Lighting/ Back-lighting/Composition (rule of thirds, repetition, leading lines, triangles)/ Capturing emotion/ Panning/ Portraits/ Posing/ Nature and Landscape/ Animal Photography/ The Zoom effect/ Still life/ Macro/ Food Photography/ Light Graffiti/Photojournalism/ Sports Photography/ Sunrises and Sunsets/ Continuing to grow as a photographer

If you do your assignment (I will not be hounding people, there is no demerit), and e-mail me your photo, I will give you a personalised critique and some pointers on things you can improve or experiment with.

The cost for the course is $145 CAD + 5% tax (which I am required by government to charge)  which works out to about 70 British Pounds.

E-mail me (click ‘Contact’ at the top of the page in the dusky pink menu bar) ¬†if you are interested and want to see a sample lesson.

Next course will begin  Sunday the 31st of Januray- Click below to register with either paypal or credit card using the button below

I learned to use my camera so much better, and to do so much more manually.  I really enjoyed that.  I think it is an awesome course, and someday, I hope to take it again.

I really enjoyed the photography course!¬† As I was a complete novice going into it I learned so much and was really thrilled to be involved in a different medium of creative expression… ¬† I particularly enjoyed our last workshop.¬† Sometimes I struggled with how to¬†use different aspects of my camera but you were prompt in returning my questions.¬† It was great and I have recommended it!¬† Thanks,¬†Nicole Hunter

I just wanted to let you know that I thought the photography course was really well put together and I enjoyed it a lot ūüėÄ …¬†It pushed me to work harder and so I also learned more.
The course helped me to try harder to take pictures of people and I now enjoy doing that a lot:)
I found out some of the more technical parts to photography and worked on improving those which also improved the pictures I was¬†taking. … I¬†think the course was awesome and I really loved it!
Thank you so much for all the time and work that you put into it ūüėÄ
