I have to say, I love it when people cry at weddings. You can fake smiles but you can’t fake tears. It seems like everyone was crying at Amy and James wedding, from the bridesmaids to the Father of the bride. There was deep emotions running through on every side and it was beautiful to capture. Some of the emotions might have had something to do with the fact that Amy is leaving her Comox Valley home and moving down under with her Australian husband. One of the memories Amy wanted was the photo of her wedding ringed hand, with that of her mother and her grandmother, what a joy to photograph 3 generations of happily married women
One of the most awesome things about this wedding was that over 30 Australians came all the way up here to be at this wedding, there were cool accents and beach hair everywhere, and it was awesome. The Australians were so laid back and fun they added hugely to the party atmosphere of this wedding. Thanks for allowing me to capture this precious day, and every blessing as you move many miles from home, I did the same when I got married, and understand the joy and the sorrow.
Thanks to my assistant and second shooter Christine Welsh, who took the slow motion blur photo at the hair salon, and also the photo of the hydrangea bucket with bride and groom blurred in the background.
In case you didn’t know, a First Look wedding, is when the Bride and Groom opt to see each other before the wedding, so they can get photos together of the first moment that they see each other without the pressure of everyone looking at them Very fun, especially when the groom is blindfolded up to the last minute
